John 1:5

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

My pastor gave the most beautiful sermon at last night's Christmas Eve service and I just have to share part of it with you. It's a bit long, but so worth the read:

You came tonight to peer into the manger along with the shepherds to see the child. Hoping against all hope that the baby really is there and this baby really is who the Bible says he is. Because everything else you've tried has left you empty and wanting.
Some of you here tonight have no peace in your life. The turmoil and chaos of your daily life is more than you can take. You are at the end of your rope.
Some of you here tonight are anxious about your health. You keep trying to find answers from doctors. You are fighting a hard battle and worry overwhelms you.
Some of you here tonight are gripped with fear about your life your future, your finances, your job, your marriage, your family. You are so tired of being afraid.
So you come to the manger. You come because deep down you know this little light is what you need in your life. Here in this manger is what can bring you peace of mind. Here, your fears can be calmed. Here, you can experience healing for your soul. Here, you can find the strength to face another day and every day after.
It is here at the manger that you can let the grace and mercy of Jesus wash over you and you can find acceptance. You can experience forgiveness and know without a doubt that you are loved.

I had planned to use a different graphic today, but that sermon just blew me away and I knew I had to share it with you, so I'm sharing just the graphic with you that I'd planned. Consider it a Christmas present from me to you 😊
